Meet Our New Director
Randy Robertshaw

You may have noticed a new face at the Library by now -- our new director, Randy Robertshaw. Although most of Randy's library career was spent at libraries north of Boston, he spent the last five years in Saudi Arabia working for Aramco libraries.

The Board of Trustees will be holding an official welcome reception sometime soon but, in the meantime, please say hello if you spot him around the building.
Ruthless River Author Talk

Join us at 6:30 p.m. on Wed., May 2 for a fascinating visual presentation and discussion of South Dartmouth author Holly Fitzgerald's new book, Ruthless River: Love & Survival by Raft on the Amazon's Relentless Madre de Dios.  A question-and-answer session will follow the program.  The author also will sell and sign copies of her book.

Ruthless River recounts the harrowing circumstances faced by Fitzgerald and her husband as they set off on a South American honeymoon adventure that swiftly transformed into a nightmare when their plane crash-landed in a  Peruvian penal colony. Stranded in a tiny town on the banks of the Rio Madre de Dios, they decide to take the locals' advice to build a raft and travel down-river to Bolivia.  But when their raft gets thrown off-course, they find themselves lost, trapped and quickly running out of time.

No registration is required and there is no charge to attend this program, brought to you thanks to the support of the Friends of the Middleborough Public Library.
