New activities scheduled in 2019
Watch for the new Messenger magazine in your mailbox mid-January. Inside will be an AAPS insert listing all the great lifelong learning programs and activities planned through April. Pull out the insert and keep it handy for reference and sharing. Because space is sometimes limited, early registration is recommended.

Social Security cost of living adjustment
The Social Security Administration announced this past October, they will be increasing Social Security benefits by 2.8 percent in 2019. This will be the largest cost-of-living adjustment in seven years. The average Social Security retirement benefit will increase by $39 a month. The cost-of-living adjustment affects about 1 in 5 Americans.

Jan. 10 - What's Next? Discover the Wonders and Possibilities of Your Post-career Life
Join certified retirement and career coach Gary Foster as he leads this very personal, thought-provoking and creative approach to retirement planning today. It's not your parent's retirement any more. We're living longer and healthier. Explore how to ensure your post-career life can be the healthiest, most productive and fulfilling time of your life. This class will not address financial topics, but will invite you to explore what could be. Class will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Metro District Office Building, 62 Plaza Drive, Highlands Ranch. Class fee is $10.  

This very moving one-act play will be presented February 7 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch. AAPS has partnered with St. Andrew to share this 50-minute story of love, connection, pain, confusion and Alzheimer's between a father and his daughter. This is a free event.
