November breakfast event explores
Colorado and the Space Industry
Colorado's aerospace industry is thriving. The state's companies and universities are contributing to the industry's growth and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space exploration and technology. We have the country's second-largest aerospace industry behind California and the highest concentration of private aerospace employees in the nation. Colorado has about 290 aerospace companies and more than 500 companies that provide space-related products and services.

If you've been curious about this burgeoning industry and the growing local economy that supports it, then this Business Over Breakfast sponsored by Ent Credit Union will fascinate you. Two of the state's leading experts will be our guests, helping us better understand the Space sector's tremendous impact.

Dave Gruber and Stephen Gourley, both retired U.S. Air Force officers and leaders in the Aurora Chamber's Defense Council, have held top positions in both public and private sectors.

This BOB will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, starting at 8:30am at the Fiction Beer Company. Admission is free to members and $10 for non-member guests. While outer space is unlimited, space at this event is not! Please RSVP.

What we learned from
our latest member survey
In October’s Rocket Poll, we asked how you’re using Generative AI in your business. About 20% of respondents indicated they had no idea what GenAI is, or don’t use it at all. About 27% indicated they know about it, but don’t use it for business. 37% of members say they are using it a little and plan to look for ways to use it more. Only 5% said they are using it robustly. We will be looking at the topic for a future informational seminar.

Responding to another survey question, about 75% of respondents indicated that they hire for their business. Of those who do, very few are adapting to recruit and retain non-traditional members of the workforce. Fourteen respondents said they were making changes to draw in older workers and those under 18. However, only a handful were taking active steps to draw in “New Americans,” individuals with physical disabilities and neurodiverse needs, or previously incarcerated employees.

The idea of adapting businesses to hire and retain neurodiverse team members is very hot right now. Large companies, and tech firms in particular, are leading the way. On January 18 at 11:00am, the Parker and Castle Rock Chambers will host a virtual seminar called Understanding Neurodiversity for Your Business Advantage. DETAILS HERE

Our November Rocket Poll is now LIVE. Can you help us out with a minute of your time? CLICK HERE to take the quick member survey.

Respond to this month's Rocket Poll by 11/17/23 to be eligible to win a $25 gift card to Texas Roadhouse. Congrats to October's winner, Nelson Brugh of FASTSIGNS!
