When you're cleaning up your garden, think of us and set aside any plants you'd like to donate to our sale. All proceeds go to new books and library supplies. We can take plants a week or two before the sale. We'll take tools and pots for resale, too.

We're also accepting books in good condition for the book sale. Please do not donate textbooks, encyclopedias, or Reader's Digest condensed sets. Thank you.

This year, we're adding something new. A yard sale! If you are interested in a table, email the library for information.

New Children's Books

Ages 4-8

"A neglected, weedy backyard transforms into a thriving ecosystem. With patience and curiosity, a child discovers the surprising variety of plants, insects, and animals living there, revealing how even small, overlooked spaces can teem with life and natural wonder."

Ages 4 -8

"If one day buds bloom and birds chirp, and the next day a late snow falls from the sky, is it spring? Will it ever be spring? An evergreen, child-friendly picture book that explores themes of patience, hope, the seasons, and nature."

Ages 4-8

"A hilarious new read aloud from Caldecott Honor-winning author/illustrator David Ezra Stein, about a grumpy bear whose animal friends are determined to wake him up after a long hibernation."

Thank you

Many thanks to Jeff Grant, Deputy Director of Gorham's Public Works Department. He single-handedly moved our package box out from the corner that's to the left of the library's front doors.

As you might surmise from the water stain on the bricks, melting snow and ice, and heavy rain also leaked into the box, and as we learned the hard way, ruined a precious book or two.

Thanks, also, to Kevin Wood, Gorham's Facilities Coordinator, for listening and doing his best to get things done. We appreciate the support!

Sky High

After days of spring snow and rain, workers finally got plenty of sunshine to repair the roof on the neighboring UCC at North Gorham. It was quite exciting to watch!

Did you know that the church was once a one-room school house? The Levi Hall School, which was built in 1895, about two years before North Gorham's first library came into being in a location that is now underneath North Gorham Pond. The church moved into the former Levi Hall School in 1962.

There's a lot of history in our little community!
