We're Hiring! IMPOWER Staff Attorney and Paralegal

The National Immigration Project is seeking a Staff Attorney and a Paralegal for full-time, temporary positions, as part of our new collaboration with IMPOWER, a group of labor unions dedicated to protecting immigrant workers’ rights. These two positions will work to represent workers associated with these unions' organizing campaigns who have suffered labor abuses at work and are eligible to apply for labor-based deferred action.

New Community Explainer on Governor Landry's Executive Order

On January 8, 2024, the National Immigration Project submitted comments on USCIS's proposal to extend form I-912, Request for a Fee Waiver, without revisions. NIPNLG called upon USCIS to simplify the 11-page form, make it available in common languages, and make it available for online filing.

The Ongoing Harms of Trump-era Mississippi Raids & Immigration Prosecutions

In August 2019, ICE carried out massive workplace raids on chicken processing plants across Central Mississippi, arresting 680 Indigenous, Latino, and immigrant poultry workers. This new explainer addresses the ongoing harms caused by worksite raids, including the use by DHS of criminal charges stemming from the raids to target workers for deportation and deny them immigration relief.

New Way Forward Week of Action

In the 3 years that President Biden has been in office, he has failed to deliver on his campaign promise of protecting immigrant communities and creating a humane immigration system. This week the New Way Forward National Campaign is taking action to hold the Biden Administration accountable and shed light on local and state advocacy efforts to dismantle systems of enforcement and criminalization in our communities.
