November 6th 2018 Election
Early voting runs through Nov 3 at the following locations in Shields Township: Lake Forest City Hall, 220 E Deerpath Road and North Chicago City Hall, 1850 Lewis Ave. The hours for early voting are Monday -Friday 9-5 Sat 9-2 and in North Chicago 10-4. Call the Lake County Clerk's office at 847-377-2410 for more information .

November 6 Referendums in Shields Township


A Refuse referendum for the unincorporated area of Shields Township will be on the ballot. If approved, the referendum will allow Shields Township to contract for refuse services for the unincorporated areas. For more information.

Illinois General Assembly

Shall the Illinois General Assembly amend the State Constitution to ban the creation of a new statewide property tax.
Veterans Events 
Lake Forest American Legion McKinlock Post 264 will hold a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at Lake Forest High School and the community is invited to attend.

Lake County Honor Flight Reunion
On Sunday, November 4 starting at 2pm till 5pm in the Foss Park Golf Course (in the P avilion). Free for veterans and $10 for everyone else. For more information

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is wrapping it's coat drive on November 7th.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and our law enforcement partners invite you to join them in bringing gently used coats, gloves, hats, socks and scarves to one of the following locations:

Misleading Telemarketers Continue Soliciting Lake County Residen ts
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office continues to receive numerous calls from the public stating fundraisers, identifying themselves as representing the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, are soliciting for donations/and or pledges via mailings and phone calls.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office does not make phone calls or send mailings soliciting money from the public.
If you receive a call from a telemarketer identifying herself/himself as calling on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, be advised the call was not approved by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. If you receive a mailing, you can forward the mailing to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, 25 S Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Waukegan, 60085. Our office is currently working with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office on this matter, to ensure the public is not intentionally/or unintentionally misled.

Y ou can register at the Shields Township office for this curb-to-curb service that takes the elderly or disabled where they need to go. Once you are registered and have made a reservation, you will need $3 for a one way trip and $6 for a round trip.
Property Tax Relief
Illinois law provides homeowners with homestead exemptions that may lower the amount of property tax you owe. Our office can assist you with filing your exemptions. Call us at 847-234-3485  for more information .
Opportunities to Give Back
Help your neighbors in need by donating to our Food Pantry. Hours are 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the township office. Contact Heather Kerr at 847-579-9739 or to organize a food drive.
