Are You Registered to Vote?
Who Can Register?

T o register to vote you must:
·          Be a United States citizen,
·          Be at least 18 years of age on or before the next election (17 year old residents may register and vote in primaries if 18th birthday occurs on or before date of general election),
·          Live in your election precinct at least 30 days immediately prior to an election,
·          Not be convicted and in jail, and
·          Not claim the right to vote anywhere else.
Two forms of identification are required to register through a deputy registrar:
·          At least one of the two forms must show your name and current physical address.
·          List of acceptable IDs.

Collection Fees, Interest to be Waived During Amnesty Week

All collection fees and accrued interest will be waived on any past due fines owed in criminal and traffic matters in Lake County as part of Lake County Amnesty Week, which will run Sept. 24 to 28. Full or partial payment will be accepted either over the phone or at any of our branch court locations. Learn more

The Lake Forest Oktoberfest is a community event and fundraiser completely run by volunteers to provide a safe and fun environment for families. All proceeds after festival expenses are used to support the great year-round programs of your Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Department. Thank you for your support!

Bring the whole family for an evening of games, fun, Scottish entertainment, picnic feast, wine, beer & spirits at the beautiful Middlefork Farm Nature Preserve, 1400 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest. Y ou can register at the Shields Township office for for this curb-to-curb service that takes the elderly or disabled where they need to go.
Once you are registered and have made a reservation, you will need $3 for a one way trip and $6 for a round trip.
Property Tax Relief
Illinois law provides homeowners with homestead exemptions that may lower the amount of property tax you owe. Our office can assist you with filing your exemptions. Call us at 847-234-3485  for more information.
Opportunities to Give Back
Help your neighbors in need by donating to our Food Pantry. Hours are 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the township office. Contact Heather Kerr at 847-579-9739 or to organize a food drive.
