From the Rector
From now through
Holy Week
April 1, 2020

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I pray you and your loved ones are doing well in the midst of all. Amidst all the changes, Trinity continues in prayer, love, and service.

Offerings and ministries are coming online weekly. Below are some highlights of what is going currently and what we are planning for Holy Week. The best source is the website. Check it out!

1) Newcomers Meet-up online opens to all parishioners: Thursday, April 2, 7:30-8:30pm. To join, Click here or call: 253-215-8782 or 301-715-8592 (Meeting ID: 440 516 017). More details will follow in the weekly Announcements.

2) The Lenten program, "On Baptism," continues this evening, then will pick up again after Easter Sunday. Tonight, we will be considering debates around baptism in the Reformation era, ending with Compline. To join, click here , or call +1 253-215-8782.

3) Supporting fellow parishioners -- Members of the Care and Outreach committees are working with me to reach out to all parishioners, to check in and just offer connection. Also, I am collecting ways to support parishioners who have seen a downturn in business. If you are one of them, please let me know how we can support you! Below are ways to give your business to Swarthmore's downtown store, H.O.M., owned and run by parishioner Shannon Elliot.

4) Holy Week begins -- Holy Week begins this Sunday, with an online Palm Sunday service at 10am, featuring baritone Matt Maisano. See below and the website for details. Next week, we will offer Morning Prayer online Monday-Wednesday, an Agapé Meal and Footwashing at home for Maundy Thursday, and a Good Friday service by Zoom from the sanctuary. There will be no Easter Vigil, but we will send the readings for home meditation. The Easter Sunday service will be online at 10am.

All of the Holy Week events will be further detailed in the announcements coming later this week.

Yours in Christ's love,
Ted+

Palm Sunday
10 am, Sunday April 5

Preparing for worship:

Worship online at 10am
As last Sunday, we will connect in worship by Zoom. We will be creative with the Gospel Narrative, and Baritone Matt Maisano will be present to lift our hearts with song.

Let's show our colors!
We can't process with palms in church on Sunday, but we can decorate our doors with branches and have greens at our home tables for blessing. Click here for images of our home altars from last Sunday.

Bread for breaking
Click here for some nice recipes for communion bread. What are you using for bread at home? Share your ideas on our Trinity Facebook page.
