Dear Avondale Family,
The leadership of Avondale have been monitoring the continuous developments of Covid-19. Over the last two days we have explored a number of options in regard to Sunday Worship and Sunday Morning Programming.
At the heart of who we are as a church is our worship of God. It is why we were created and everything we participate in is built on that foundation. Christ himself commanded that when he said for us to “Love the Lord your God with all our heart, soul, and mind.” Then Christ goes on to say, “and love your neighbor…”
After prayerful consideration and extensive conversation, the Session and Staff felt the best way to love our neighbor was to suspend gathering for Worship this Sunday, March 15th, and would like to invite each of you to join us as an Online community through Facebook Live. During this time we will have music, scripture, a sermon, and lots of prayers.
All Sunday Morning and weekly Christian Education events have also been suspended.
Additionally, please be aware of our elderly friends and if you learn of a concern that we can help with, please do not hesitate to let me or one of our elders know. I would also ask that you join us in praying for our community and all those affected by this virus. The leadership of Avondale is monitoring the situation closely and will make updates as decisions are made in the coming days and weeks.
Please be assured that these have not been easy decisions for us to make and we appreciate your patience as we worked through the process.
Yours in Love & Faith,
The Elders of Avondale
