UNITY Annual Congregational Meeting

after Service February 9th 12:30-2pm

All are invited to this annual meeting, where we vote for new Board members and celebrate the work they have done all year long. We will share a potluck lunch, review the budgetwhile we look at where we are going in the coming years.

Don't miss this great gathering of kindred souls with a shared dedication to Unity.

And did I mention it is a potluck? Bering a dish to share.

Walter Gregson Vaux died peacefully at home from a neurodegenerative disorder. He was born in Seattle to Earle and Charlotte Vaux growing up in Madison Park and Magnolia. He graduated from Queen Anne High School. Walter earned his bachelor's in chemical engineering from the University of Washington. He received his Master's degree and PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota.

His career took him from field research in Alaska to Procter and Gamble in Ohio, Atomics International in Los Angeles, and the Westinghouse Science and Technology Center in Pittsburgh.

Walter was energetic and led a life filled with a passion for the out-of-doors, playing music, and service. He was a mountaineer and hiked and trekked extensively. He was also a musician, and enthusiastic gardener, and an active leader in the life of his church.

Walter most regarded his integrity and the value of his word. He cherished the goodness of life with his wife Diane, and the love shared with his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Cydra. He is survived by his wife Diane; his son Gregson; and four grandsons: Cavan Bonner, Rohan Vaux, Thoren Vaux and Aurien Vaux.

A celebration of life service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on 1111 Franklin Street in Port Townsend on Saturday, February 8th at 2:00.

"Kirtan helps the mind become quiet, and when the mind quiets, we can begin to perceive the mystical things, the sacred experiences,  that are around us always. In the silence between the songs, when the song stops, you can feel something. And that something is you. There is no greater experience than the experience of one's Self. And that vibration is always within you, that vibration is you. That's the beauty of any chant experience-with little or no effort we can experience and enjoy the vibrations of peace, energy, healing and inspiration that are always within us."  Kamini Natarajan

A huge Thank You to Kristen and Karl who have transformed our front entry room, what I lovingly call "Fellowship Hall". Kristen directed her team of helpers, including Kaiya, Jana and myself, while Karl did all the heavy lifting. In the end the bookstore has been relocated to the long hallway and the front "Fellowship Hall" has lots of room for us to gather together in fellowship and friendship. Thank you so much Kristen and Karl!!

They also tackled the back storage room and that looks amazing too.
