Good To Know

From The Captain

Pictured above is Captain staying calm while his mom Rebecca is getting ice cream with dozen of kids running around!

Teaching your dog manner skills, basics commands and providing enough mental and physical exercise will prevent them from developing anxiety and other stress related behaviors such as barking, jumping, reactivity and aggression. An important part of the learning process is to set your dog up for success by managing their environment, training and making it easy for them to do well. This begins with understanding how your dog copes in certain situations, and managing their environment, Doing so at a young age will give your dog confidence and lessen the chance of them experiencing anxiety and discomfort in adulthood. Socialization does not mean your dog has to be physically touch by another dog or a person. Exposing your dog to different situations where they can observe will produce a confident dog.
