GO Color Lake Bluff 5K Run/3K Walk & Food Festival
GO Color Lake Bluff is an untimed event that emphasizes fun over competition with the ultimate goal of bringing together the community as part of Lake Bluff Park District’s ongoing GO initiative promoting healthy lifestyles.

The run steps off at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 22  from the Lake Bluff Metra Station Parking lot. Participants will be doused from shoulder to toe with colors (made from safely colored cornstarch) at color stations along the route before returning to the Metra Parking lot where they will receive a final blast of color followed by an after party featuring music, a photo wall, massive color throws along with food vendors and beverages.

The event is open to the first 300 participants to register. Runners and walkers or all ages and their well-behaved four-legged friends (on leashes) are welcome. The cost is $15 per person (dogs and children 3 and under are free). Registration includes a run packet and a GO Color Lake Bluff t-shirt.

The food festival following the event is open to anyone who would like to attend. No registration required. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Online Safety for Teens & Kids
There are plenty of good things about social media — but many risks and things kids and teens should avoid.
Besides problems like cyber-bullying and online predators, kids also can face the possibility of a physical encounter with the wrong person. Many newer apps automatically reveal the poster's location when they're used. This can tell anyone exactly where to find the person using the app.
It's important to be aware of what your kids do online. But snooping can alienate them and damage the trust you've built together. The key is to stay involved in a way that makes your kids understand that you respect their privacy but want to make sure they're safe. For tips to give your child click here.
