National Day of Prayer 2024

For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God--his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

2 Samuel 22:29-31 ESV

Corporate media has been shaping the views of the public for decades by picking and choosing the stories they tell. Quite often, it’s what they DON’T share with the public that would fundamentally change the public’s perception of an issue or situation.
At 1819 News, we have to pick and choose the stories to cover, too. There are simply too many stories to tell, and we can’t cover them all.
But there’s a big difference between not having thousands of reporters and purposely suppressing a critical perspective that undermines the establishment narrative. We exist to shine the light and share stories that you normally wouldn’t hear about.
An incredible example just happened when we published the official ALEA body cam footage of the shooting of Stephen Perkins.
This footage will potentially exonerate the officer who appears to have shot Perkins in self-defense. Until we published this footage, the only video that was shown to the public was the ring doorbell camera footage that did not show much. Indeed, it appeared edited to favor Perkins.
The officer who fired the lethal shots was charged with murder prior to our story. The footage was leaked to a source that tried to get multiple other media companies to run it but we were the only ones who had the courage to publish it.
Incredible, isn’t it? The most likely reason for media to not publish that footage would be to protect a desired narrative.
If you’re tired of the establishment narrative and tired of corporate media constantly spinning the news to promote it, you should be a member of 1819 News.
We are citizen-supported, independent journalism that celebrates the pursuit of truth. That’s why we exist: To shine the light in darkness and share with the public what we find – good or bad.
As a reader of 1819 News, we need you as a member to support the work you love. You can join 1819 News for just $5 a month by clicking the link below:
