Ash Wednesday fire talks
ash wednesday

Explore the history of South Australian bushfires and the SA Country Fire Service, with former CFS fire engineer David McGowan.

David led the CFS brigade in the catastrophic 1981 and 1983 Ash Wednesday fires. Find out how fire-fighting strategies have evolved since then, and why bushfire information is very relevant to the western suburbs.

This is a poignant and informative way to remember the Ash Wednesday victims, and a timely reminder of the increasing bushfire threat right across Australia.

The event is sure to book out, so reserve your spot on the Event Calendar.

Changing Places at Parks Library

We have some exciting news. Parks Library has the first formally accredited Changing Places in South Australia and and we hope it marks the beginning of more inclusive design across our public libraries and community buildings.

What is Changing Places and why are they so important?  With an adult change table and tracking hoist system, this space helps individuals and their carers to participate in the social life of our community.

Visit the Changing Places website for more information or the Council website for more details on the room and the services available.
Adelaide Fringe at the library

"Mad March" is not far away, and City of PAE Libraries is getting into the Fringe Festival spirit with a unique multicultural Storytime at Greenacres Library.

Join in for familiar songs and rhymes interspersed with children's songs from China, and accompanied by beautiful traditional instruments played by Zhao Liang (Guzheng) & David Dai (Erhu). This is a fun and friendly way to introduce your young ones to international arts and culture, and we encourage your family to be there!

Bookings are essential. Visit the library website to view or download our program and book your spot.
Read-along books on Libby

Have you tried the wonderful new Libby App? It's packed with great e-reading and audiobook features for adults, teens, and young readers too.

Choose Libby's "read-along books" format to discover beautiful e-picture books that include live narration - like a cross between a picture book and an audio book!

It's a great way to get children excited about reading and introduce them to the many digital services available with your City of PAE Libraries membership card.

Get the Libby app for your device from the Digital Library.
Writers' Week live streaming

We're excited to bring you author talk live streams from Adelaide Writers' Week 2019. Watch in the comfort and cool of Greenacres, Enfield, Parks and Port Adelaide libraries between 2-6 of March.
