International Restoration Institute Partnership
ACHP is proud to announce a new partnership with the International Restoration Institute. IRI
is dedicated to educating, training and assisting contractors and handyman professional on helping victims of storms, fires, mold and floods. IRI's Restoration and Remediation Certification Courses have been used in the restoration industry for over 10 years. The Restoration courses offered are all online and there are free student advisement offerings at no charge. Check out the courses at

. All courses take approxmately 30 to 40 Hours to complete.

Insurance Updates
Lockton has added an easy "pay my bill" link for easy insurance policy renewals. "Participants of our insurance program will still receive their yearly invoices however, we made it easier for members to renew their insurance policy invoices online" says Asst VP, Joe Perkins of Lockton.

4 Tips for Effective Local Digital Marketing
It's not the same to generate a digital marketing plan for a local handyman business as it is to create one for a strictly online business. Remember that your local digital marketing strategy must target - and appeal to -- prospective customers in the geographic area where your handyman business is located.
In order to best reach your local customers, consider these 4 local digital marketing tips.
Have a Mobile Friendly Website
If you don't have one yet, try to make this a priority. Customers who turn to their phones to search for a handyman business will find your business if your site is mobile optimized. If it isn't, they may not even be able to find your site, let alone interact with it. Which means they won't be giving you any business.
Include Your Location, Hours of Operation, and Contact Methods
Customers frequently go to the website of local businesses to find its address and hours. Make sure that information is displayed clearly. Also offer multiple contact methods, such as a phone number, email address, and a social media account so people always have a way to reach you.
Have an Obvious Call to Action
Your website has a main goal - probably for your business to bring in new customers. You need to make it clear to prospects how they can do business with you. Do they call your store to set up appointment? Do they drop by during your business hours? Specify a call to action so your customers know the course of action they need to take to utilize your handyman services.
Monitor Online Reviews
Online business reviews are vital for all businesses, and local ones especially. Make it a point to monitor websites like Yelp and see if you need to respond to any reviews about your handyman business. If people leave negative reviews about your business, make sure to respond - a sincere apology from you can go a very long way. If you notice multiple people making similar complaints, use it as a clue on ways to improve your business.
Your handyman business revolves around your local economy. Your best and most profitable prospects are literally just down the road, so make sure you harness the power of the Internet to bring in customers from your own backyard.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?
|
Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
