Open House - Feb. 4, from 10am - 4pm!

It's been a couple of months since we first opened, and we've been getting used to the space... and changing it up! If you still haven't been in, Saturday, Feb. 4 is the day to do it! We're having an Open House from 10am to 4pm, and we'd love to see you here!

Invite a friend, bring your kids, and come see what we're all about! We'll have a fun colouring contest, lots of toys and games, and special party-day vouchers so you can try us out for free.

See you then!

New: Longer hours, and a Playdate Calendar

After the holiday hustle, we've used January to get a handle on what families want, and since this is about flexible daycare, we've adjusted our system to better reflect what you've told us.

One big change already in effect is an earlier opening time. We're now here from 9am to 7pm, to cover your needs all through the day. Don't forget though, a full day at Buddings takes a lot of energy, and even though we're open longer, children should not be booked for more than 8 hours a day.

Another change, to launch for February, is an optional Playdate Calendar, so you can check with other Buddings families to coordinate days and times to come in together. The calendar is totally optional and will be shared upon request. Registered families can simply send an email to Talia to receive access.

Packing your Buddy Bag

We hope your kids look forward to coming to Buddings, and that getting them here is easy for you, too. In the rush for the door, as you're grabbing your stuff, preparing a Buddy Bag shouldn't be a hassle. Our list below has all the essentials:

  • Shoes or grippy soled slippers for inside, especially if it's yucky outside. The tile floor can be slippy in socks!
  • Some healthy snacks - in a lunch box or bag
  • A water bottle or drink cup with water or milk
  • Diaper kit if necessary, including diapers, wipes, and cream
  • A change of clothes in case of emergencies

Having a backpack or bag keeps everything together, and when you arrive, the whole kit can go into one of the cubbies under the bathroom window for easy access to snacks and toilets.

Spot Light

We're pleased to introduce you to Budding Beethovens - a music program for children aged 0 - 12 years. If there's interest, Ruchika will offer her dynamic program on weekends at Buddings, starting in March. To sign up for the 4 month classes, call her at 604-565-2855, or visit BuddingBeethovens.com

Buddings accepts used toys and clothes

A big Thank You to Beaumont Studios for our newest daycare friend, Big Ben! He's been a big hit with all the kids, and it got us thinking. If you have toys or clothing at home that your kids have outgrown, you can bring them to Buddings for a second lease on life!

We'd like to keep a supply of extra clothes of various sizes in stock, for emergencies, and a few new-to-you toys are always a treat. We've also made some friends at the Easter Seals House for children and families, so anything above what we can use, we can pass on for you.

PS, Check out the Beaumont's kids' art classes, too!

New: Buddings' Refer a Friend Program

We all know that Word of Mouth is the best advertising you can get, and we're honoured to hear so many of our families are talking us up. Thank you! We've started a new referral program to make spreading the news even easier. Next time you're in the centre, feel free to pick up a couple of our referral vouchers. Add your name and pass them out. Everytime we get one back, you get a 10% discount on your next package. (Your friend gets a free first visit, too, so everybody wins! :)
