February Highlights

Black Lives Matter Week of Action

In celebration of Black History Month, students presented their artwork to the KSD Board at a recent meeting. Students throughout the district had previously submitted artwork for a student art campaign celebrating Black Lives Matter Week of Action. The winning artwork was also displayed across KSD devices during this week as well.

LiV's Table - A Table for All

In celebration of Black History Month, KSD highlights Olivia Yuhashi. She is a young Black business owner in our community and a KSD graduate. Thank you, Olivia, for creating room for everyone at your table through your work in the community.

Field Trip to Skills Incorporated

Kent Laboratory Academy's Mechatronics and 3D Computer Machining classes were able to visit Skills Inc. earlier this month. Not only were students able to learn more about aerospace manufacturing, but they also had an opportunity to tour the production floor. This field trip allowed students to connect the material they have learned in class to possible career opportunities in the working field.

National School

Counseling Week

The 2023 theme was School Counselors: Helping Students Dream Big. KSD counselors not only help students to dream big, but also support them in making these dreams a reality. Thank you counselors!

PTA Founder's Day

Christine Deacon (pictured above with her family) has been a PTA member for the past

decade. She enjoys bringing different learning experiences to students through PTA. She also encourages parents and guardians to join however they can. Thank you,

Christine!
