2023 Bond Thought Exchange

Please participate by sharing your thoughts on what information you need to make an informed decision on the bond proposal?


The 2023 Bond funds will be used to make major repairs, replacements, and upgrades in our schools and facilities across the district. It will address health and safety, facility improvements, outdoor learning, districtwide program growth, and technology infrastructure. Remember to vote April 25, 2023.

Dr. Dana Stiner is the Washington Elementary Principal of the Year

Dr. Stiner, principal at Pine Tree Elementary, has been recognized by the Association of Washington School Principals with this prestigious award. Dr. Stiner builds a culture of hope and ensures that every single staff member is supported to help students succeed. She also creates an environment at Pine Tree where every student is excited to learn and grow. Congratulations Dr. Stiner!

8th Annual MLK Rally

Students from Kentridge and Kent-Meridian, in collaboration with The 5th Avenue Theater, came together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The annual event was filled with beautiful songs and powerful spoken word led by students. Thank you to all of our student performers, Jennifer Grajewski, and The 5th Avenue Theater for continuing to lead this incredible event. National Mentoring Month

This month, we celebrated our community partners for their help to provide a meaningful education for our students. Mentors provide a much-needed role model and safe space for students that they might not have otherwise. It is with heartfelt appreciation that we thank our mentors for their work and dedication to our students.

February 2023

Special Election

The February 2023 Special Election is right around the corner and ballots were mailed out this week to registered voters. There are three ways you can return your ballot. You can mail it in, return it to a ballot drop box, or visit a vote center. The election day deadline is February 14 and if you haven't registered to vote or need to update your registration you have until February 6 to do so.

February is Black History Month, and we invite you to join us in honoring and celebrating Black history within our nation, community, and schools. We will be highlighting our amazing black community leaders, staff, and students all month long.

February is CTE Month

CTE stands for Career and Technical Education and is one of the ways students can learn through hands-on activities and build pathways towards potential career options after high school. Learn more about the courses students can take and help us celebrate KSD's amazing CTE team!

National School Counseling Week February 6-10

During this week, we highlight the amazing work school counselors do every day. School counselors work to maximize student success, promote access and equity for all students by helping to create a school culture of success for all.

Elementary Conferences

February 27-March 3

Conferences offer an opportunity for families and teachers to communicate about academic progress, build a supportive partnership, and foster a two-way conversation between the family and teacher. Be sure to add this to your calendar.
