Improving Educational Outcomes for Students

We are proud to begin a partnership with Kingmakers of Oakland as we strive to create a whole system of equity and excellence through creating or sustaining a welcoming environment in all KSD schools and buildings for all students and families, eliminating disproportionalities in discipline districtwide, and increasing access and opportunity to rigorous course offerings. East Hill Celebrates Its Diversity

When this school year began in remote learning, East Hill Principal Paul Tytler and his staff knew they needed to get creative to find ways to continue engaging their students and families in their diversity, inclusion, and equity work. Their Ethnic Studies Committee planned schoolwide learning projects to help students feel empowered and celebrate their unique identities. Read more and see students' work.

2021-2022 Budget Priorities ThoughtExchange

What are your top priorities for our budget? We are seeking input from our students, staff, families, and community on what is important to you and what we should prioritize within our 2021-2022 budget planning process. Learn more and participate before 5 p.m. on Friday, April 30.

Your feedback will be shared directly with the Kent School Board during their regular meeting on Wednesday, May 12. The information will also be shared with KSD staff to assist in preparing a 2021-2022 budget that reflects the priorities of our district and community through responsible use of monies. Results will be posted publicly on our website.
