NEW IN THE ILLINOIS MEDICAL DISTRICT: JAN/FEB 2019
FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
As we look ahead to another new year, I'm excited for much of the progressive and innovative work that's happening throughout the District. I'd also like to renew the IMD's commitment to our partners and stakeholders that we will continue striving to create the world's next great health innovation destination.
One initiative that we're focusing on this year is the newly designated Opportunity Zone here in the IMD.  Opportunity zones are designated census tracts that provide incentives for developers to invest in those areas with land available.

Our partners at CBRE recently spoke about opportunity zones with a trade publication, particularly on what makes the IMD such an attractive destination. You can read more about that here. You can also view the designated IMD opportunity zone on our website.

As we work to attract more world class talent and organizations to the IMD, we will ensure that each new partner aligns their work with our mission to create economic growth, while providing opportunities for the surrounding communities that look to us to help build them up.
