PA Ending Business Exemption Program at 5:00 PM, TODAY
|
|
Due to an overwhelming response of more than 32,000 requests, the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is ending its program to grant business exemptions, at 5:00 PM today Friday, April 3.
This program allows businesses to request an exemption to the original Governor's Order announced back on March 19 (and updated on March 22), that only "life-sustaining" businesses were allowed to remain open.
Also, although the state is no longer offering its Small Business Financing Program for companies of 100 employees or less, a variety of other resources do remain available. You can

The Federal Paycheck Protection Program – Loan Information
|
|
Mentioned in our webinar April 2, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering loans for businesses keeping their workforce employed during the current pandemic. The application period has now opened as of Friday, April 3.

* Please note that there is now new guidance for this program, just released last evening, April 2. Among new changes is an increase in the anticipated interest rate for PPP loans. Previous interim guidance set the loans at a fixed 0.5%; the interim final guidance sets the interest rate at 1%.
