The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently lowered its threshold for lead poisoning in children, after a study found that over half of U.S. children had detectable levels of lead in their blood.

The CDC reduced the blood lead reference value from 5 milligrams per deciliter of blood to 3.5. With the new standard, twice as many children ages 1 to 5 could be considered to have high blood levels, which pose significant risks to all the major organs and the brain

Sullivan County NH Lead Paint Abatement & Healthy Homes contractors enjoyed a well deserved and awesome meal at Rocky's Taqueria in Claremont NH, last week, where they networked with like businesses and the program team members Derek Ferland, Project Director-County Manager; Kate Kirkwood, Program Manager; and Mickey Laskey, Program Lead Inspector-Risk Assessor, and discussed completed and future projects, plus provided great feedback! Those pictured included Jon Nelson, Rob Lovett and Berkley Health of Concept Carpentry; Chris Denis of Birchdale Construction, AJ from AJ Wood Construction; and Rick Greenwood of Beaver Ridge Construction.
