The Role of Behavioral Interventions in Buprenorphine Maintenance Treatment

This webinar will review the literature on the role, nature, and intensity of behavioral interventions in office-based buprenorphine treatment for patients with opioid use disorders. SAMHSA Publication: Clinical Guidance for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder and Their Infants

SAMHSA has released a new tool to assist health care providers in caring for pregnant women and new mothers with opioid use disorder and their infants. The new publication, Clinical Guidance for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder and Their Infants, includes 16 fact sheets, with each fact sheet containing four elements:

• clinical scenario

• clinical action steps

• supporting evidence and clinical considerations

• web resources

SAMHSA developed the Clinical Guidance to meet an urgent need among health care professionals for reliable, useful, and accurate information when caring for these populations.

PCSS offers eight hours of MAT waiver training and the additional 16 hours of training required for NPs and PAs.

AMA Launches "Share Your Story" Campaign to Document Barriers to Care

The American Medical Association (AMA) is launching a new digital tool kit as part of its ongoing efforts to improve access to high-quality treatment for patients seeking multidisciplinary pain care and for a substance use disorder. The tool kit will be used by the AMA and the nation’s medical societies to urge physicians to upload stories about their patients who encounter obstacles when seeking care for pain and/or a substance use disorder.

The “Share Your Story” campaign is part of the AMA’s work to end the opioid epidemic and is designed to highlight physician efforts as well as urge payers and policymakers to improve access to treatment. Physicians can share their stories here .
