I never thought I would enter the family business... |
|
Before graduating from Florida State this past December, I didn't think I would enter the family business. I wanted to find my way in the world, I guess. However, the circumstances of my graduation, falling in the midst of the Covid pandemic, weighed in favor of giving the family business a chance. Of course, I am now glad I did.
My name is Steven del Amo, I turned twenty-three this month, and I have been working with Carlos del Amo P.A for a little under a year.

I am not new to the firm, of course, having grown up around its periphery. Both of my parents have been dedicated to it throughout my life. As such, I was often drafted into filing or other various office tasks over the course of my teenage years. Having graduated and seeing life from a different angle, better prepared and more mature, I see great opportunities for professional growth and even fun and meaning in this firm and the practice.
I enjoy the opportunity to contribute to cases more meaningful, be mentored, learn about real estate and litigation, help clients, and learn proactive skills that will help me throughout my business life. The combination of both real estate and legal knowledge and experience that I am getting will give me the skills I need throughout life, whether I go to law school or continue in business.
So, what is it I do? I work in the pre-litigation personal injury department and the real estate department. My job consists of ensuring our clients' files have all evidence needed for trial while also helping our clients get through a personal injury case, ensuring they get the proper treatment and following the right steps to position themselves in the best way possible for their client's case.
As for the Real Estate department, I work on all Real Estate closings, including refinances, sales, and purchases. In addition to the law firm side of real estate, I earned my Real Estate license in August of 2019 and worked as a licensed Real Estate agent for Del Amo Realty, Inc. I have enjoyed being a realtor and helping others find a place to call home. (The work of a real estate agent, such as showing homes and conducting open houses, brings back good memories from childhood, spending time with the family).
I am optimistic about the future for my own life and the firm, which I can say I am delighted to be a part of the family business.

The celebration of fathers across the US and Latin America comes this 20th of June, coinciding with the summer solstice. The longest day of the year is going to be dedicated to fathers, those who support, joke, help and lift young boys and girls to be their best and to shape the world. This 20th of June, we gather together to celebrate the arms that lifted us and the hearts that love immensely. Happy Father’s Day, to all those heroes out there!
