Reminder to participate in Forest Service listening session

This is a reminder about tomorrow’s USDA Forestry Service listening session webinar on Wednesday, May 15, from 1-2:30 p.m. EDT. ***Please note the correct call-in number below; a previously provided number has been replaced by the Forest Service.***

The listening session presents a great opportunity for tribes and Forest Service staff to discuss together the forestry provisions of the 2018 Farm Bill. Specifically, tribal representatives will have a chance to provide comments on three topics:

  • Section 8624: Good Neighbor Authority for Tribes
  • Section 8703: Tribal Forest Management Demonstration Project (authorizing use of contracts entered into under the “638” Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act)
  • Tribal woody biomass projects authorized by P.L. 115-325 (amending the Tribal Forest Protection Act)
