Beatification of A Saint
Father Michael McGivney
Knights of Columbus Founder
Beatification Mass Oct. 31, 2020

Pope Francis approved a miracle attributed to the intercession of the founder of the Knights of Columbus, Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, a Connecticut priest who served his flock during the pandemic of 1890, before himself becoming ill and dying of pneumonia.

The pope's action means that Father McGivney can be declared "Blessed, " the step just prior to sainthood. An additional miracle attributed to Father McGivney's intercession will be required for his canonization as a saint.

Community For Women
Successful Collection for those in Need

The Community for Women wishes to thank all parishioners who so generously contributed to our underwear and sock drive. We were able to serve 16 elementary schools in the county with 3,319 items which included 879 pairs of socks. Thanks to the 12 ladies who came to sort and bag the donations, as well as the 5 drivers who delivered the clothing!
Custom Woodworking
Donating Time and Skill

As our parishioners come back to Mass, we remain ready to open our Family Life Center to accommodate more parishioners as we socially distance. As we are not "passing the collection baskets" as we limit what we are touching, we thank Mark Beyers for his skilled handiwork in donating the collection boxes for the FLC. Thank you for gifting the parish with your handcrafted woodwork!
Eagle Scout & Team
Serving Our Parish Community

Thank you to Colin Spare and the Scouts on their Eagle Scouts Service Project which was recently completed. Colin and the team removed the parking lot bollards, dug new holes and put in new bollards, protecting our field for years to come. We appreciate the time, organization and effort that went into this project. It's through the efforts of many that makes St. Stephen strong!

Serenity Meadows

This year in light of the pandemic, the 9th Annual rosary walk will be a Rosary Car Caravan through Serenity Meadows Cemetery located at 6919 Providence Road, Riverview; on Sat., Nov. 7, 20 at 9:30 am. We will meet in the parking lot in our cars at Serenity Meadow and then the caravan will stop at specific locations in the cemetery as the leader will announce names of loved ones and parishioners who are buried in that location and recite part of the rosary.  This is a beautiful way to honor, pray and memorialize those of our dearly departed. Domestic Violence Awareness Month

"Violence against women, inside or outside the home, is never justified. Violence in any form-physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal is sinful; often, it is a crime as well." USCCB, When I Call for Help, 2002.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This year, the sad reality of domestic violence is particularly evident due to the pandemic. More families are at home and not every family is safe in the home, as this year's theme reminds us: "When Home is Unsafe: Recognizing the Reality of Domestic Violence Today."
