BROWN BAG LUNCH LECTURE - August 16 - 12 p.m.
Presented by Dr. Stephenie Slahor
California, Nevada and Arizona have rich mining histories, but mining in the old days was a unique, dangerous and difficult job. Take a look at what life was like for miners, the work they did, how they lived, and how mining helped open the West for settlers.
The lectures start at 12:00 p.m. Admission is $ 5 or free for Museum Members/Sponsors. Beverages will be served.
The Hi-Desert Nature Museum did not just extend its hours, but also added a new co-worker, Museum Assistant Charlie Rossow. Charlie has B.A. in history and has worked as a Library Assistant in Special Collections for the Getty Research Institute in L.A. Charlie's interests are local history and gems and minerals. Him and his wife moved to the desert in 2016.
Come to the museum and welcome Charlie!
