In addition to our online service, providers may continue to verify members' eligibility 24/7 by calling our Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system toll-free at (866) 791-7628. This phone number is listed on HMAA and other member ID cards as a resource for checking eligibility.
The caller will need your provider tax ID number (TIN), the ID number located on your patient's insurance card, and the patient's date of birth.
You may enter your fax number if you wish to receive the information by fax. To avoid a potential HIPAA privacy breach and ensure timely receipt, be sure to enter the correct fax number. Within minutes, you should receive a faxed document summarizing:
- Member eligibility
- Claim status
- Deductibles
- Out-of-pocket maximums
- Remaining balances
Our IVR system reflects current eligibility information but typically reflects an effective date of January 1, 2024 for most members, even if they enrolled with HMAA prior to then.
