New school meets old school. FreeStyle offers modern solution for school renovations
Durfee High School in Fall River, Massachusetts, recently ordered FreeStyle Commercial tiles for its continued renovation of some of its older building. The school previously installed 8,000 square feet of our interlocking product a few years ago for the conversion of an old academic building into administrative offices.
“We needed a product to be a floating floor that was also able to be installed over uneven surfaces. FreeStyle was the right choice for us,” said Ken Pacheco, Chief Operations Officer for Fall River Public Schools. “The installation couldn’t have been easier. We are thrilled with the product and feel this will be a regular fix for our renovation products and also feel confident that this is also a great option for new construction.”
Like so many SelecTech customers, the key selling point was being able to install flooring over existing flooring with minimal floor preparation. The fast installation is important, but it pales in comparison to the cost of removing old flooring. Faced with a similar scenario for this next round of renovations, Durfee made the same choice and purchased 15,000 square feet of FreeStyle Commercial tiles. They will install the tiles themselves.
