Dear Taxpayer,
You are receiving this message because our records show you used eCheck to pay City of Philadelphia taxes in the past.
To improve security, our third-party eCheck processor assigned three new “originator IDs” to the City. As a result, some banks and financial institutions have rejected eCheck payments to us in recent weeks.
An originator ID, or Company Identification Number, is a 10-digit number used to identify the originator of a transaction.
If you experienced an eCheck payment rejection due to the update, we apologize.
To resolve the problem –or avoid it in the future– please pass the following originator IDs to your bank
:
- 1911925808 (this is the City’s old ID, and may still be active for some tax types)
Ask your bank to add these originator IDs to the City of Philadelphia’s profile. Failing to pass these IDs can result in repeated eCheck payment rejections. Future failed payments may add interest and penalties to your account.
If your eCheck payment was rejected, and you have not resubmitted a payment, please:
- Contact your bank to confirm that it has added the originator IDs to the City’s profile.
- Resubmit the payment online via eCheck.
- Email [email protected], notifying us you’ve resubmitted payment.
