Concert proceeds go directly to the performers. Tickets may be purchased at the Capitol Center’s Bank of New Hampshire Stage website, www.banknhstage.com. Performances begin at 3:00 p.m. and will last one hour. Attendees should bring their own chair or blanket for the physically distanced seating arrangement.

The Music School begins its fall semester on September 14, with a full schedule of private lessons, choruses, and instrumental ensembles taught by its outstanding faculty (click for info). This fall builds upon the successful response to the pandemic last spring that resulted in hundreds of students of all ages continuing to learn and make music together with faculty and ensemble colleagues since April 6. YouTube student recitals and Facebook Live sessions for preschoolers and older adults have brought joy to many families since April.

The Music School is following all CDC and State of NH official guidelines, plus the guidelines developed by the researchers at Johns Hopkins for our colleagues at Peabody Preparatory about the safety of presenting and making music together. Teaching this fall will be primarily virtual, with selected in-person opportunities scheduled in outdoor and indoor large spaces.

About the Artists

Raised on contra dances and old tunes from the British Isles, Audrey Budington has a fiddle style that is both reminiscent and refreshing. Her performances maintain the integrity and raw emotion of beloved traditional tunes, while her original compositions sparkle with wanderlust and anemoia. In 2018, Audrey graduated from Berklee College of Music, where she was awarded a full-ride scholarship. During her time at Berklee, she studied with such Trad luminaries as fiddler Darol Anger, and harpist Maeve Gilchrist. Audrey is a 2014 alumna of the Concord Community Music School, where she first realized her passion for music and crawled around during Music and Movement as an infant. Occasionally, Audrey can still be found at the Music School rehearsing or catching up with teachers and friends at her “home away from home.”

Anders Larson is a multi-instrumentalist from Goffstown, NH. He has harbored a love of traditional music and has been participating in Irish musical tradition since the age of five. An alumnus of the Music School, the fiddle is his primary instrument, and he is self-taught in guitar, Greek bouzouki, concertina, and harmonium. Anders has a growing reputation as an accompanist, backing up fellow students in CCMS recitals and camp concerts as well as playing gigs with Christopher Dudley and Audrey Budington around NH. He synthesizes elements from traditional styles of accompaniment, as well as elements from dance and more jazzy and experimental genres. At CCMS, he has been a student of Liz Faiella for five years and a member of the Scholarship Folk Ensemble, and is interning in studio engineering with Eric Klaxton.

Guitarist David Tonkin has been performing, writing and teaching music for 45 years. He has played with Tiger Okoshi and Delfeayo Marselis, developed school and community improvisation residencies, and played venues from the Blue Note in NYC to The White Mountain Jazz and Blues Festival. A founding faculty member at the Music School who served for 35 years as its Jazz Department Chair, David built a first-class jazz faculty and influenced hundreds of students, many of whom are recognized musicians and educators around the country.

Vocalist Tyler Shore blends the sounds of contemporary musical theatre, jazz, golden-age classics, and modern pop styles to bring variety to every event. Tyler holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. He is the proud recipient of a New Hampshire Theatre Award, and a national finalist in the NATS Musical Theatre Competition. Tyler is an alum of the Concord Community Music School, and proudly works there as a voice faculty member. Performing on professional stages and venues throughout the Northeast, his goal is to spread the joy and magic of music and theatre to as many people as he can.
