Ron Stocke is internationally acclaimed for his dynamic cityscapes, interiors and more. His impressionist style is both exciting and unique; simplifying shapes and exaggerating values, his combinations of lost and found edges separate his work from his peers. Describing his show, Ron states:
"I feel like this show was a rebirth in a way. After spending two years through the pandemic where I struggled creatively and only painted at a fraction of my normal pace. I benefited by having to examine and rethink what it was I wanted to say as an artist."
"I have always used strong light and shadow as a supporting role to connect my subject matter, but in this series I’m exploring the light and shadow more closely. Some of the details I observed while sketching and developing these works included the color temperature in shadows, strength and power of the light, even the way the particles floating in the air were highlighted by light.
The paintings in this collection vary from places I’ve visited, shops I frequent, to my favorite corner of our house. I wasn't focusing on the specific details so much as the feeling I get while being in these locations.
