Dear Friends of ASIA:
As we approach the 4th of July, we can expect to see parades, fireworks, and family gatherings across our nation. This year, it is a lot more special as we will be celebrating the 250th anniversary since independence. An extraordinary milestone for the world’s benchmark for democracy, liberty, opportunity, and the fair rule of law.
The solid pillars built by the founders created a beacon of hope that has inspired generations. Today, this legacy is vividly reflected in our immigrant and refugee neighbors who left everything behind to build a better life through hard work, perseverance, and giving back.
By pursuing the American Dream, New Americans actively participate in the ongoing story of this great republic. The dedication, work ethic, and vibrant cultural heritages brought to Northeast Ohio don't just complement our region, but they also strengthen the very fabric of our communities.
One of the most profound ways we honor the founders' legacy is for each citizen to exercise their sacred right and responsibility to vote. Casting a ballot is the peaceful, time-honored mechanism through which we engage in local, state, and federal governance of our great country.
At ASIA, we believe a well-informed community is a strong community. We are proud to provide nonpartisan civic education and language assistance, ensuring every eligible citizen has the tools to navigate the democratic process with confidence and pride.
