We didn't have a lot of snow this winter, but some of the Hansen kids and dog Piper had fun sledding through the fields one February day.

Who doesn't love pie a la mode? We will have a special treat for our customers at our Waterloo store on Pi Day (3.14) Saturday, March 14.
Get a slice of
Try Pie
with a scoop of your favorite ice cream for only $3.14!
Try Pie is a non-profit organization developed through Orchard Hill and Harvest Vineyard churches. Each week a group of teenagers from Waterloo and Cedar Falls, along with adult mentors, meet for a time of learning and pie making. The pies are then sold throughout the community. The youth develop faith, life, and business skills as they work alongside one another, and Hansen's Dairy is proud to support them in their efforts!

Jeverna and Tom Mulligan |
The March Customer of the Month is
Jeverna Mulligan
of Waterloo.
Jeverna and her husband Tom shop at the Waterloo Hansen's Dairy store, which is in their
neighborhood, and they love the locally produced products.
"We like the skim milk, cottage cheese and many of the different ice cream flavors," she said.
The couple started visiting the Waterloo store when it first opened. "
We had known Jay and Jeanne (Hansen) since they were youth racquetball coaches at the Decathalon Club in the '90s, and we wanted to support their dairy," she said. "
We also like that they support local groups, especially young people. They are just good people."
Thanks, Jeverna! Customers of the Month receive a $5 gift certificate to use at our stores and two free hands-on tour passes to the farm (a $24 value). You could be chosen by filling out an entry form at our stores or through your comments on our
Facebook
and
Twitter
pages.

Our March Cows of the Month are two peas in a pod.
Twins Bumble and Bee turned 2 years old in November and are similar from their face to their udders, making it hard to tell them apart in the parlor without looking at their ear tags. They eat together, get milked together and are both above-average producers.
Although their first calves were both singles, we can't wait to see if one or both of them produces more sets of twins!
