Dr. Michael Aronsohn, DVM, DACVS
After Dr. Aronsohn received his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, he was in private practice for 7 years. After completing his surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 1981, he served as a staff surgeon at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA for 13 years, where he was appointed Chief of Surgery. He held a dual appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine during that time.
Dr. Aronsohn became a Diplomate of the ACVS in 1985. He moved to Florida in 1995 where he was a staff surgeon at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida in Cooper City. He is currently practicing the art of veterinary surgery at Southeast Veterinary Referral Center in Miami, FL. He has written over 30 scientific papers and book chapters. He is a strong advocate for pet overpopulation, and has written several scientific papers on the subject. A longtime resident of Coconut Grove, he enjoys photography, sailing, biking, and reading.
Dr. Aronsohn has authored over twenty-five journal articles, contributed to numerous textbooks and has lectured around the country and even in Peru. He received the Helen Woodward Award at Angel Memorial Hospital presented to a staff member who contributed most to animal welfare. Dr. Aronsohn is the newest addition to our staff, and we are extremely pleased to have him, his skills, and his shared enthusiasm for compassionate advanced care.
