Dear Chamber Members:
As we approach election time in the Commonwealth, the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors encourages you to participate in our democratic processes. This year Shenandoah County has elections for Board of Supervisors and School Board Members in Districts 1,4, and 5. The Chamber was proud to partner with other organizations to host candidate forums in each of these districts so that voters could hear directly from the candidates on issues that were important to you. All but one candidate responded and participated. Supervisor Bailey did not respond to our personal, mailed, and emailed invitations.
At the recent kickoff of the Chamber Economic Development Council business leaders surveyed at the event noted that the political climate in Shenandoah County was the greatest perceived barrier to development in our County. We encourage you to become informed about the different candidates running for office. We feel economic development should be a priority of our County leaders. We need leaders who have a vision for our County, represent our values, and are pro-business.
Thank you for all you do to make Shenandoah County a great place to live, work and shop.
Remember to Vote November 7th
