Celebrate Horizons at SFFS' high school volunteers

A new video by SFFS Development Associate Margaret Thompson interviews three of our 2018 volunteers about their experience. Want more video content? Planting hope and fruit trees together at Slide Ranch

Horizons at SFFS is primarily, but not only, a summer program. Six free family events throughout the year keep students connected to the program and each other. The first of these events for 2018-2019 was a field trip to Slide Ranch attended by 44 Horizons students and family members, three staff, and two youth volunteers. We bonded with the farm animals, explored tide pools, did wool crafts, planted trees, and made our own bread and butter during a relaxing day of enjoying nature and each other. View pictures here .
Congratulations, Buena Vista/Horace Mann School!

Our partner public school, Buena Vista/Horace Mann K-8 Community School, was recently honored with an invitation to the Mission Promise Neighborhood. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and Mayor London Breed were present at the community event, which also celebrated five years of the Mission Promise Neighborhood initiative . We are grateful for the good work that all of our partner organizations are doing in our community!
