New Video Highlights Matthew 25 Commitment

For more than 200 years, Presbyterians have been responding to the call of Jesus Christ, sharing the gospel with others and bearing witness to Christ’s saving love to the ends of the earth. The Holy Spirit is still on the move, calling us to share what God is doing in the world.

To support this mission, PC(USA) partnered with the Viewpoint Project to create a short documentary about the denomination’s Matthew 25 commitment. Local public broadcasting stations, as well as cable networks like CNN and HLN, aired two videos in May about PC(USA)’s work in creating healthy, just communities and a radically inclusive world.

Please share these videos with your community to help those around you understand the efforts of your congregation, organization, and denomination in advocating for those who do not have a voice. Learn more about this project.

New Pastoral Relationship

Welcome Rev. Lee Zehmer to Presbytery of the James. On June 1, Lee began service as interim pastor of Tuckahoe Church in Richmond. Lee is transferring to POJ from Salem Presbytery. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide Lee and the Tuckahoe congregation as they journey into the new days ahead.

Into the Church Triumphant

Rev. Doris "Dodie" Rossell entered the Church Triumphant on May 29. Before her retirement in 2008, Dodie was a licensed professional counselor. Lord, shower your comfort on those who mourn Dodie and give them strength knowing that she is now with you in eternal peace. A memorial service will be held June 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Second Church in Richmond. An obituary is not available at this time.
