AN UPDATE FROM OUR DIRECTOR:

When the world went virtual, one of the first things EPIC did was launch a YouTube channel. Parents were desperate for communication and connection, and we wanted to create a one-stop shop for everything they needed.

The channel's largest piece is EPIC Academy: more than 100 videos about STEM, art, nature, movement and more. The Academy is true community collaboration, featuring videos from local teachers, parents and kids from all over Western New York. There's also Parenting on Pause, which includes short clips for parents on stress management and self-care, and Covid Conversations, a pandemic-specific playlist where we talk with pediatricians and child psychologists to answer parents' questions and address concerns.

YouTube is now the forever home for our first year of virtual events like the Baby Expo, Storytime at Canalside, Read Across America Day and our 40th Anniversary celebration. As we make the slow and steady return to gathering in person, the channel will not just be a time capsule for a tumultuous year- it will continue to connect and support families in our community and beyond.
