New year, new programs.

Dear Friends,

We hope that each of you had a happy, healthy, and restful holiday season! It feels like just yesterday we were weaving and chatting under fall foliage at Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival, and somehow it's snowy January. Tempus fugit. (Temperature frigid?)

Your generous donor support continues to leave us deeply humbled and grateful for this incredible community. We can hardly say thank you enough, but allow us to repeat it again, thank you. We have some inspiring new plans in the works to grow our knowledge and our connections in 2026, but more on those as the season unfolds.

Below you'll find some new programs we're offering this year that we hope will pique your interest. Some of our tuition prices will increase in March, so if you've been on the fence about signing up, now is a great time to take advantage of current rates. More details about that further down.

Should you find yourself in the path of this impending winter storm, we wish you warmth and safety and thick woolen blankets. (You can weave one in Foundations.) Check on your neighbors. Should you be one of our friends in the southern hemisphere, we wish you good sunscreen and a gentle breeze. Check on your neighbors too.

Our 2026 Calendar is Live!

In case you missed it, our 2026 calendar is up on the website with all of our planned programs for the coming year. We may add a few more programs midseason, but our core offerings are available now for registration. Several of these classes have already filled (you're all amazing), so if there's a class you've been considering we would encourage you to claim your spot early!

New Programs in 2026

If you're anything like us, you enjoying spicing things up from time to time. To keep it fresh we've added four new programs in 2026.

Passementerie Primer

Go big, or go home, unless it's passementerie, in which case make it very small and often complex. We'll use table looms, tape looms, and a genuine 19th-century Parisian passementerie loom to get a taste of the clever and unique world of trim weaving.

Beginning with Classical Natural Dyes

Are you dye-curious? Check out our casual meet-and-greet workshop with a few of the "classical" natural dyes. We'll scour, mordant, dye, overdye, and you'll go home with dye recipes and a whopping three pounds of naturally dyed fingering weight wool yarn to knit, crochet, or weave with.

Shirt from Scratch

A two-week class for the DIY garment maker. Weave cloth from cotton, linen, or worsted, then sew your own shirt using our patterns or yours. Conquer your fear of cutting handwoven cloth and wear your project home.

Carpets and Rugs

Cold toes got you down? Take the edge off with five (FIVE!) different carpets and rugs in this round-robin style class. We'll break with tradition and warp all of the looms ahead of time, you get to come and spend a day on each project and leave with flat woven, pile, and double cloth carpet.

Tuition Increase on the Way

We work hard to make our programs as affordable as possible, however, the costs required to create the best experiences we can deliver continue to climb. Beginning March 1, 2026, the tuition for a five-day weaving program will increase from $750 to $800. Tuition for our shorter and longer programs will not be affected at this time. Book before March 1 to lock in the current rate! We appreciate your understanding as we ensure a solid financial future for the school.
