Meet Our New Library Director:

Ben Gocker

Meet our new Library Director, Ben Gocker! Ben has been a public librarian for 15 years. He began his career at the Brooklyn Public Library, working everywhere from Bushwick, to Park Slope, Coney Island, and the Central Library's local history division, the Brooklyn Collection. He also worked as a Library Director in the Adirondacks at the Tupper Lake Public Library, Assistant Director at the Town of Esopus Library, and has been the Assistant Director at the Newburgh Free Library since March of 2023.

NFLXpo, Mini-Comic Con Returns to Newburgh Free Library

NFLXpo MINI-COMIC CON RETURNS TO THE NEWBURGH FREE LIBRARY

Can’t make it to ComicCon in NYC or San Diego? Newburgh Free Library’s mini-Comic Con the NFLXpo is returning this year! NFLXpo will take place on Sat., Oct. 21 from 12 – 4:00 p.m. at the Newburgh Free Library, 124 Grand Street. The NFLXpo celebrates comics, anime, gaming, movies, books, art – all things pop culture. Cosplay is encouraged, try out your Halloween Costume early!

The NFLXpo will include vendors, comic artist and author guests, games, and panels and guest speakers. If you or someone you know might be interested in being a vendor, exhibitor, or guest speaker/panelist at this event please visit www.newburghlibrary.org/nflxpo23

Admission to the NFLXpo is free; the event is family-friendly and open to patrons of all ages.

2023 Regina Angelo Scholarship

The Friends of the Newburgh Free Library are pleased to announce that the 2023 Regina Angelo Scholarship is awarded to Lennox Guzman. The scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student in honor of Ms. Angelo, a devoted long-term employee of the Newburgh Free Library. Guzman, a 2023 Newburgh Free Academy graduate, is enrolled as a freshman at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. We wish Lennox great success as he embarks on his college career.
