NOAA is seeking members of the new Climate Services Advisory Committee

The CSAC will advise the Under Secretary on the accessibility, effectiveness, and use of NOAA's climate services in preparing our nation for the impacts of climate change, consistent with the National Science and Technology Council's A Federal Framework and Action Plan for Climate Services and NOAA's Equitable Climate Services Action Plan. 

Applications and nominations are due December 20.

Funding Spotlight

Pat and Dick Johnston Graduate Fellowship in Coastal Sustainability at the Bald Head Island Conservancy

The Fellowship provides support for a graduate student to pursue a coastal sustainability project on Bald Head Island in collaboration with Bald Head Island Conservancy staff and the Center for Coastal Sustainability. Projects should be directly related to the sustainability of Bald Head Island and other southeastern US barrier islands.

Total Award: $20,000

North Carolina Sea Grant Calls for Preproposals for Applied Coastal Research

North Carolina Sea Grant is now accepting preproposals for the 2026–2028 applied research grant cycle, with awards up to $150,000 each for projects that address problems affecting coastal ecosystems, economies, and communities.

Community Collaborative Research Grant (CCRG) 

The CCRG, is an innovative funding opportunity that requires research approaches that couple local knowledge with scientific expertise. This opportunity requires a local knowledge expert and scientific lead. Funding is available for one year projects, and awards will range between $5,000-$25,000.

Annual Hazards and Disasters Student Paper Competition (Due January 24, 2025)


The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released a draft of the Interim Framework for Advancing Consideration of Cumulative Impacts, providing agency programs and regional offices with tools and principles to consider cumulative impacts in their work. EPA welcomes public feedback on the draft Framework by February 19, 2025.


The Southeast Regional Climate Center (SERCC) requests feedback on "Expanded Caribbean Section of Southeast Quarterly Impacts and Outlook Report"


The American Society of Adaptation Professionals invites its members and organizations with experience in environmental justice and community advocacy to sign-up to provide technical assistance for communities impacted the most via the EPA Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers (“TCTAC”) Program.
