Storybook Project Prison Ministry

by Laurie Franz

📖The Storybook Project has sent over 22,000 books and recordings to families since 2001.

Epiphany’s Storybook Ministry continues to thrive. Four of the five prisons that we visit are now using cell phones for our recordings. This has been a very successful change to our program.

We often get thank you notes from the families that receive the books and recordings. These simple notes keep us motivated to do our part to help these families stay connected while their loved one is in prison. Below is a thank you from a grandmother who is caring for her granddaughter while her own daughter is incarcerated.

The Storybook Project would not be possible without two things: our dedicated volunteers, and money to buy our materials – BOOKS, MAILERS, POSTAGE and RECORDING MATERIALS.

We use the occasion of both Mother’s and Father’s Day to bring our story to the congregation. Look for giving envelopes at the June 15 worship service or make an online donation anytime to the designated “Storybook Project Prison Ministry” fund. Also, please consider becoming a volunteer.

Learn more on our website or reach out to coordinator Laurie Franz for more information.

PENTECOST GERANIUMS PLANTED

Austin campus coordinator Brittany Albert wishes to thank Erik Eberhard for graciously planting the geraniums after worship, pictured here.

"A huge thank you to all those who donated to purchase geraniums for the altar for Pentecost at both campuses. The 85 geraniums were planted around the grounds at Far Hills and Austin to remind us of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. A special thank you to George and Mary Downs, Erik Eberhard, Beth Fischer, and Debbie Gresham who helped me plant the geraniums at Far Hills on Sunday afternoon." -Paul Gresham

Thank you to all who provided geraniums that were in our worships spaces for Pentecost and now beautify our campuses. Pastor Julie regrets the delay in publishing your generosity.
