SERMON   Cultivating & Letting Go: Faith over Fear

Rev. James Goodlet

Ministers
Rev. James Goodlet
Rev. Jan Stewart Tolbert
Lenten Devotionals:  Lent is a period of 40 days beginning with Ash Wednesday and ending during Holy Week. It’s a time mirroring Jesus’ own 40 days in the wilderness which prepared him for ministry, for healing, for preaching, and ultimately for death and resurrection. This year’s Lenten theme, Cultivating & Letting Go, is brought to us by the good people of A Sanctified Art. On Sundays, we’ll be considering the things we need to cultivate in our lives and the things we need to let go of— not for our own sakes, but for the sake of serving the Triune God. But we at First Presbyterian wanted to offer something beyond Sunday mornings! So, we are providing Lenten devotionals and coloring calendars as a way of centering your whole self so you can consider what God is cultivating within you and what you are being called to let go. The devotionals and calendars may be found around the church for picking up.
