Kitchen Help needed
OCCS is looking for an assistant to help in the kitchen a couple days a week. It's a low impact, low stress position that's a great way to work with a wonderful team and be involved with the kids and school. Please contact the office if you are interested.
Change to Iowa Assessments
Many changes have happened during the last year. One of which has been the change of Iowa Assessments (formerly ITBS). They have been sold to another company and changes are being made to it as schools transition away from that standardized testing format. We at OCCS have also been looking at a better model for our standardized testing that will help drive education. This is a good year to make that change, so the board approved moving to MAPS testing. It is a testing format using shorter testing sessions several times a year to assess growth (similar to STAR testing). So we will NOT have our big Iowa Assessments week in two weeks. Instead there will be winter and spring testing times later. Education will be interrupted less as these modules are designed to fit within class periods and are much less stressful for students. We will have more information about this as we go through the process. We hope this will be a much more beneficial process for student growth and education at OCCS. Thank you for your support.
Tuition Payment Requirement
At least 30% of the annual tuition must be paid by the end of the first semester which is Friday, January 15.

You can check your tuition balance anytime on the OCCS website under 'Parents', then 'JMC.' The username is your last name and the password was the one you provided at registration. Contact Pat Ahrenholz in the office if you need assistance with your login.

Any family who falls behind 30 days to their agreed upon payment schedule signed at registration will incur a $25 late fee for every month they are not caught up.
