OCCS Office Closed:

The OCCS Office and the TRIP office will be closed on Friday, April 4 during the K-4 Musical from 9:00-10:30am.

Stripes of Service Hour Program:

We are excited to launch the Stripes of Service Hour program, encouraging students to serve others as part of their faith journey. Students in 4th-8th grade will log 100 service hours (20 per year) through activities that extend beyond regular chores, both in and out of school. Teachers will provide reflection opportunities to help students recognize the impact of their service. This spring will serve as a trial run, with full implementation next fall. We appreciate your support in helping students develop a heart for service as outlined in our mission statement—please reach out with any questions or service opportunity suggestions!

ATTENTION GRANDPARENTS:

As we prepare to welcome grandparents for a special morning at Grandparents Day on Friday, April 4, we would also like to offer an optional Vision Event the evening before. We understand that many families will be busy with the musical that night, and we don’t want to take away from that important event. However, for grandparents who are in town and do not have plans, this gathering provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the heart of OCCS.

If grandparents are arriving in town on Thursday night, April 3, we invite them to join Mr. Alons and Mr. De Jong in the music room for a meaningful conversation about the story, mission, and vision of Orange City Christian School. This gathering offers a wonderful opportunity for grandparents to hear more about the heart of OCCS and the ways God is working in our school community. Local grandparents who are interested in attending are also warmly invited to join us!

Date: Thursday, April 3

Time: 7:15 PM (Mr. Alons and Mr. De Jong have a small part at the beginning of the musical so the time could be pushed back to 7:30PM)

Location: OCCS Music Room

Please RSVP by signing up here: Grandparents Vision Event. We will provide light snacks so please RSVP so we can plan accordingly!

Grandparents Day:

On Friday, April 4, we will have our annual Grandparents Day event in the morning. Grandparents are invited to watch the K-4 musical and visit classrooms. All students will be dismissed at noon and no afternoon bussing will be provided. Please share this information with your grandparents!
