▶︎ RABBI FALICK WILL SPEAK: THE EVOLUTION & SIGNIFICANCE OF PASSOVER

Rabbi Falick will get us ready for Passover as he explores the holiday's development across more than two thousand years and considers what it has come to say about freedom, responsibility, and Jewish identity itself.

Along the way he will consider significant questions:

Does the Exodus tale represent an actual event? If not, how did the story take shape and why has it endured with such power for thousands of years?

As he points to some highlights of the Seder itself, he will also explore how and why Passover continues to resonate as each generation reinterprets the holiday while still preserving its recognizable form and most central messages.

✦ Friday, April 10, 7PM

▶︎ GUEST SPEAKER MIKE WHITTY:

"AGING INTO SAGE-ING"

Our very own "Doctor Detroit," CHJ member Mike Whitty will reflect on what it means to age into becoming a sage for our own loved ones, friends, and community.

Learn how to speak from wisdom and to become a prophet in your own times by living in the present, day to day, in full appreciation, thankfulness and radical acceptance.

✦ Friday, April 17, 7PM

▶︎ GUEST SPEAKER MOLLY REESER:

HOPE ON HORSEBACK — CHANGING LIVES AT CAMP CASEY

CHJ member Molly Reeser is the founder and Executive Director of Camp Casey, a 22-year old, Michigan-based nonprofit that provides cost-free horseback riding experiences to children facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Under Molly’s leadership, Camp Casey has grown into a statewide organization that now serves more than 1,600 children and family members each year. She oversees all aspects of the organization’s work, from programs and partnerships to fundraising and community engagement.

Molly’s leadership has been widely recognized. She was named to the Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40 and has been featured on NBC’s Today Show as well as in national publications including the Huffington Post, Horse Illustrated, and The Chronicle of the Horse.

HEAR US BETTER!

Ask for a "TELECOIL" in your new hearing aids!

If you are considering new hearing aids, be sure to choose models equipped with a TELECOIL which allows seamless use of the hearing loop in our building.

You may also want to look for Auracast-compatible devices, as we hope to introduce this newer technology in the near future.
