The Social Justice Committee will be handing out bags and a wish list of needed items following each Rosh Hashanah service. Fill your bag and bring it back when you return for Yom Kippur!
This year, our donations will support the food pantries at Temple Kol Ami and Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church, both of which are in great need of our contributions.
It’s a simple way to make our High Holidays a time of giving as well as reflection!

The Kesher Committee is looking for people to volunteer for a new program for meal delivery. As a volunteer, you will make or purchase a meal, and then deliver it to the CHJ member in need.
Volunteers will be provided with the amount, type/preferences, and allergen info of the recipient, and the ability to sign up for your chosen date/time of delivery.

The Social Justice Committee thanks everyone who helped make our Scam Alert event a success, especially Arthur Liebhaber, who took photos and notes, and Ann-Marie, who prepared the delicious brunch.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Particka provided valuable, easy-to-understand information and answered many audience questions. He told us that ours was the largest audience he has had for this presentation!
Mr. Particka will be sending us additional resources, which we will share in an upcoming newsletter.

We are continuing to collect food and other needed items (e.g. diapers--especially large sized, feminine hygiene items, cleaning products, toiletries) for local charities. When you come to our building for an activity or are just in the neighborhood, you can drop some off.
