Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month!

As we enter mid-September, Stamford Cradle to Career is proud to celebrate

Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15 - Oct 15)! This special month honors the rich cultural history, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community, which is a vital part of Stamford's diversity. We invite our community members to join us in recognizing and appreciating the vibrant cultures and impactful contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans in all aspects of society. Keep an eye on our social media and website for updates on upcoming events and initiatives that celebrate this important cultural event.

Civic Engagement Series: Encouraging Youth Voices

We are excited to announce the launch of our Civic Engagement Series, which emphasizes the importance of youth participation in civic and political processes. As the election season approaches, we are proud to support

Youth Voter Registration Week. This initiative is aimed at empowering young people to register to vote and ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections. Youth voices matter, and we want to make sure they are at the forefront of shaping our future.

Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved through events, panels, and opportunities to engage in civic life. Be sure to follow our website and social media for the latest updates on these important efforts!

Honoring Rosh Hashanah, Columbus Day, and Indigenous Peoples' Day

At Stamford Cradle to Career, we believe in celebrating the cultural diversity that makes our community so special. In that spirit, we recognize and honor the significance of Rosh Hashanah (Sept 15-17), a time of reflection and renewal for the Jewish community, and the upcoming Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day (Oct 9). Both of these observances hold deep historical and cultural meaning, and we encourage our community to take this time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the many cultures that make Stamford a vibrant and inclusive place.

Sounds Water Community Service Day

Rippowam and Dolan Community Schools teamed up with Kids Helping Kids for a community service day at SoundWaters! On Sunday, September 15th, 11 students from Dolan and Rippowam Middle Schools gathered for a beach clean-up at Cummings Beach. They worked together, walking the shoreline and park areas to pick up trash and help protect our local environment. Along with making a positive impact, the students also enjoyed building new friendships. They're already excited about future service events!

SC2C Equity Updates

PolicyLink Equity Summit

Several staff members recently attended the PolicyLink Equity Summit in Atlanta, a transformative event centered on racial equity and the vision of a society where everyone can participate, prosper, and reach their full potential. The summit focused on addressing systemic inequalities by fostering inclusive practices across sectors such as housing, education, and employment. Our team returned energized and with a renewed commitment to embracing “all” as the truest expression of equity. We understand that achieving equity is a challenging but necessary journey, as it is the only way to create a future where every individual can thrive. Through actionable steps, we aim to integrate the insights gained into our work and continue advocating for policies that dismantle barriers to success and ensure equitable opportunities for all.

We look forward to sharing more about how these insights will guide our upcoming initiatives!
