Parents please mark your calendars .Current Kindergarten students do NOT have school on January 12th. 

PARENT MEETING

WHO: Parents that have high schoolers interested in playing baseball as a part of our co-op with Concordia. 

WHAT: There is a parent meeting about winter workouts that start January 10th. Sign up details will be given, along with spring and summer baseball information.

WHERE AND WHEN: Concordia Jr/Hs (15656 Fort St, Omaha, NE 68116) on Saturday, January 7th at 12 pm.

NO AFTERCARE ON JANUARY 10TH

There will be NO After School Care for any students on Tuesday, January 10 in preparation for our Open House & Worship Night that evening.

All elementary students should be picked up from school by 3:30 PM.

Donations are being accepted for OCA’s Spring Gala.

Examples would be sporting event tickets, gift cards, sports memorabilia, gift baskets, etc.

INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN MEDICINE?

• When: January 7, 2023 Time TBD (Omaha)
• Where: Creighton University Cardiac Center
• Who: 9-12th grades; priority given to first-generation, Native American, and/or historically marginalized (in medicine) students
• What: Explore topics related to science and medical careers and learn how to set yourself up for admission into competitive fields. We will explore how to identify shadowing opportunities, what classes to take in college, what extracurriculars to get involved in, what the medical school application process looks like and more. Other sessions will teach physical exam skills and provide opportunities to engage in clinical decision making. Parents are required to attend as well. Lunch is provided.

DRESS UP AS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK CHARACTER

We will have Book Character Day on Friday, January 13, 2023. On that day, students in preschool through 6th grade may choose to dress up like their favorite book character.

It will be a fun day of celebrating literacy while investigating the imaginative worlds that books allow us to explore! 

Please don’t feel as though you have to go out and purchase something new for this event. Check out Pinterest or Google Images - be creative! Many book character costumes can be put together with things you already have on hand. 

Costume Guidelines: We do ask that you please keep the following guidelines in mind as you plan your student’s costume:

       - Frightening costumes, ghosts, witches, or anything pertaining to witchcraft or wizardry are not acceptable.  

       - No weapons of any kind, or dangerous-looking items (even if plastic or fake) will be permitted as part of the costume.
